Travelling with PH

Having pulmonary hypertension (PH) should not stop you travelling or enjoying holidays within the UK or abroad. Although there may be extra things to consider, travelling just requires more planning than for people without PH.

In addition to the normal things that require planning (booking accommodation, flights, etc) you will also need to consider things specific to your PH. These will include taking medication with you and oxygen if it’s needed, booking special travel insurance, etc.

The web pages within this section provide guidance on what to consider when travelling with PH. They are based on the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA UK) booklet Travel: Practical advice on travelling with pulmonary hypertension. This is contained in the members’ pack given to all PHA UK members. Joining the PHA UK is free.
