Our new informal get-togethers are a chance to connect with others affected by PH in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
We held our first small and friendly gatherings at the PHA UK office space in 2025, and more are planned in 2026.
WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPLORING AN EVENT JUST FOR CAREGIVERS. CLICK TO FIND OUT MORE.
Tea & Talk events are designed to be relaxed and informal, with a focus on getting to know each other and enjoying brews, bakes, and plenty of chat.
As a rare disease, we understand that PH can be isolating. Whilst our online forums are extremely valuable, we want to help people to connect face-to-face too. Get to know each other, and the PHA UK team, in a friendly and welcoming space.
Please note these events also involve a short discussion about a current PHA UK project, to obtain thoughts and feedback from our members. We will send you details of this ahead of the event.
FEEDBACK FROM OUR FIRST EVENTS:
“It was great to meet both the PHA team and other patients and families”
“I always enjoy and appreciate getting together with fellow patients – thank you”
“I appreciated meeting with fellow PH sufferers and hearing of their experiences”
Tea & Talk events take place from 11am until 3pm and refreshments and a buffet lunch are provided.
The events are held at the PHA UK Resource Centre, Sheffield, S35 2PH. We are based just off the M1, and there are parking spaces available directly outside the building. We have an accessible entrance and a ground-floor, accessible toilet.
The events are open to anyone living in the UK who is affected by PH. It is hosted exclusively by the PHA UK and you do not have to be under the care of the specialist centre in Sheffield to attend. All we ask is that you are a member of the PHA UK (it’s totally free to join and you can do so here).
You may bring one person with you if you wish, such as a family member, caregiver, or friend.
Please note that due to space restrictions, we can accommodate a maximum of 16 people for these gatherings. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Our Tea & Talk events are completely free and include refreshments and a buffet lunch. We understand that travel costs can be expensive, and we do not want to limit who can benefit from these events because of this. Therefore, we are able to subsidise travel expenses (such as fuel or train tickets) up to £50.
If you choose to travel a long way and wish to book overnight accommodation, this will be at your own expense, but we can suggest comfortable and cost-effective hotels in the locality.
If you have any questions about these events, please email hello@phauk.org. We look forward to meeting some of you soon!
