Emphasis scoops Gold – for the second time!

Posted on November 27th 2019

The PHA UK’s member magazine, Emphasis, has won a prestigious communications award – for the second time.

The magazine won gold in the ‘best publication’ category in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, held in Leeds last week. The win comes two years after it first took gold in the same category.

The PHA UK publishes the 52-page magazine four times a year. Containing news, features and advice columns, the publication aims to help the charity’s 4,500 members live well with pulmonary hypertension (PH); a rare and serious lung disease which also affects the heart.

Judges praised Emphasis for ‘the respect and creativity that goes into each issue’, hailing the magazine ‘a highly polished product, which informs, engages and inspires its target audiences’.

Iain Armstrong, chair of the PHA UK, said: “We know how much our members value Emphasis as a source of support and information and it feels extra special to receive industry recognition like this, especially for the second time.”
