A new PHA UK service aims to help people affected by pulmonary hypertension connect with others who truly understand.
PH-CONNECT, launched today, is a free tool that enables users to search for people like them and start one-to-one online conversations to share experiences and mutual support.
Users can browse member profiles and search using different filters, such as type of PH, treatment, specialist centre, time since diagnosis, age, and more. It has been designed for patients, caregivers, and friends and family too – benefitting the full PH community.
Dr Iain Armstrong, PHA UK Chair, said: “Living with pulmonary hypertension can feel isolating at times. It’s a rare condition, and sometimes it seems like the rest of the world carries on without quite realising what day-to-day life can look like for those with the disease, or those caring for them. Here at the PHA UK, we hear this all the time – and that’s exactly why we’ve created PH-CONNECT. We hope it helps make life a little easier for people affected by the condition, by connecting them with others who have shared experiences.”
