By Pamela Baines, living with PH
Once there was a golfer,
Who lived out on the green,
Every so often he called out, “Fore!”
And off he goes again.
“Fore!” is not the score, you know,
It’s a warning as you play,
For people who are passing by
To stand well out the way.
So stand clear when golfers call out “Fore!”
And keep yourself from danger,
For when that little ball takes flight,
It may just find a stranger!
COMMENTS FROM THE AUTHOR’S DAUGHTER:
Not only does mum have PAH, she also has the start of dementia, which is why I am humouring her with uploading this as I think it is a very good effort under the circumstances, and has also occupied some of her day over the last couple of weeks, as she is now in a care home. My dad used to be a golf professional, and James one of the activity co-ordinators plays golf, he lives opposite the care home, and when he is practicing his putting in his garden, the carers shout out of mum’s window ‘Fore’ to play him up, which is where this poem originated from!
