By Barbara Gibbon, living with PH
The tree in our garden
stands tall and full of grace
spreading its branches outward
Delicate blossoms flower like lace
It’s clothed in majestic splendour, with leaves of green all shades
It’s full of life and singing
As birds perched take their place
Then summer months have dwindled
And winter takes its place
The tree still stands magnificent
But gone are leaves and blossomed lace
Now it’s clothed all white
With ice and frost and snow
As light casts on it in the darkness
Like diamonds the branches glow
It’s there in all white splendour
For everyone to see
The tree in our garden
Clothed in serenity
