Posted on November 22nd 2021

From today (22nd November) anyone in England aged 40 or over can book a COVID-19 booster jab. Those aged 16 and 17 are also now eligible to book their second jab.

You can book via the NHS website here.

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Over 40s in Scotland will be offered a booster once the earlier priority groups have received theirs.

๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ In Wales and Northern Ireland, currently only those over 50 and other eligible groups are able to book a booster.

So far, more than 14 million booster jabs have been administered in the UK.

Sajid Javid, Health and Social Care Secretary, said: “We know immunity to COVID-19 begins to wane after 6 months and new data shows a third dose boosts protection against symptomatic infection to more than 90% โ€“ this highlights just how important it is that everyone eligible gets their top-up jabs as soon as possible.

The JCVI will keep under review whether the booster programme should be extended to all people under the age of 40 and I look forward to receiving their advice in due course.”
