From today (22nd November) anyone in England aged 40 or over can book a COVID-19 booster jab. Those aged 16 and 17 are also now eligible to book their second jab.
You can book via the NHS website here.
Over 40s in Scotland will be offered a booster once the earlier priority groups have received theirs.
In Wales and Northern Ireland, currently only those over 50 and other eligible groups are able to book a booster.
So far, more than 14 million booster jabs have been administered in the UK.
Sajid Javid, Health and Social Care Secretary, said: “We know immunity to COVID-19 begins to wane after 6 months and new data shows a third dose boosts protection against symptomatic infection to more than 90% โ this highlights just how important it is that everyone eligible gets their top-up jabs as soon as possible.
The JCVI will keep under review whether the booster programme should be extended to all people under the age of 40 and I look forward to receiving their advice in due course.”
