Oakfield goodbye

By Leo Edwards, age 11

We arrived at school,
that one sunny day,
Together writing our first pages,
setting our way,
We met new friends,
saw new faces,
Endless laughter,
finding new places.

I remember sitting in class,
I made a friend in you,
We saw each other every day,
our friendship was true.

Through arguments and trouble,
sadness and despair,
After 7 years of madness,
we were never truly aware.

After all the pages we wrote in school,
eventually our paths would split apart,
‘Cause every chapter had to end,
through different journeys we will start.

There will always be another chapter,
in which we do new things,
There will be always be new people,
see what the future brings.
