By Kitty Howson, age 13
Her lips will never speak a thought,
ruined for all eternity.
Her eyes will shed no tears,
blinded for all to see.
Her features enlarged,
plastic surgery gone too far.
She will sit at home,
her empty mind will float.
An innocent childhood, muddied and torn
by the social standards we have worn.
Youthful lives ruined by ‘pretty nets’
lethal and deadly are the rules we set.
