The Girl of My Dreams

By David Whittington, living with PH

On the day you were born, a New Life had dawn,

Created by the Lord,

And as you grew up, you learned of a cup

To be confirmed by the Holy Word.

When you were eighteen, by our friends it was seen,

that to you I did pledge every word.

Some people were raged, when we became engaged,

and by this we did please the Lord.

On our wedding day smile, as you walk down the aisle,

to meet me before the Lord.

In sickness and health, I’ll surrender my wealth,

and by this we did please the Lord.

As the years pass on by, I know we will try,

to live right in the eyes of the Lord.

Our children we’ll raise, and teach them to praise,

and believe in the Holy Word.

The older we get, we’ll never forget,

our lives gone before on record.

Till death do us part, I’ll give you my heart

and then give it to the Lord.
