By Val Stott, living with PH
“CTEPH??? – What’s THAT?” – BUT I WAS SLIGHTLY RELIEVED.
A diagnosis at least when no one believed.
When walking I’d plead with dismay
“I can’t get my breath – the hills are steeper today!”
Yet a voice in my head new something was wrong,
But my GP disagreed so I kept walking along.
My breathing got worse until a friend said one day,
“You’re going to A&E, you’re worse than ever these days.
After A&E a referral to Sheffield’s excellent team,
Then referred on to Papworth and their MDT.
And three BPAs later, I’m not too breathless now
And await mitral valve fix – not sure when, where or how.
But “Life is for Living” a dear friend would say
So look forward in hope to much brighter days.
Such comments like hers give us all hope and strength
To others who may be struggling at length.
STAY strong, STAY hopeful, enjoy a laugh every day
STAY positive, STAY Connected, with PHA UK.
